Strangers on a Bench, a podcast by singer-songwriter Tom Rosenthal, launched in September 2024. Each episode features Tom approaching a random bench-dweller and asking if he can sit next to them and record their conversation. Every stranger remains anonymous, neither name or place of work is ever revealed (even to Tom himself), leading to greater openness, intimacy, and surprising revelations from the participants.

The podcast was listed in The Atlantic's Top 20 podcasts of 2024, The Economist's best podcasts of 2024, and won 'Best New Podcast' (Silver) at the British Podcast Awards in 2025. In early 2026 it featured on the front cover of The Observer Magazine.

A new episode will be released every Monday.
